Thanks to one, teenie, weenie, faulty point on a railway track, all train traffic in the West of Holland had come to a screeching halt. This (unexpectedly) left us with a beautiful, sunny 'day off', last thursday. We made good use of this, by having lunch at the Rosarium in the Amstelpark (for my review click on:Me-me-linkfood.Amsterdam).
and then continued on to Cinecenter to watch the funniest film I've seen in a very long time, click on: INTOUCHABLES. Honestly, at times, I had tears rolling down my cheeks from laughing so much, despite the serious subject. It's a 'feel-good-film' and I advise everyone to see it.

Burners are burning again.
Exactly one year after I wrote about my plans to have business-cards printed and making a start with Me-me-linkjewellery, I finally managed to light the burners again.
The cards took forever and during that time I moved again (this time to Amsterdam). These may not be very good excuses for the delay in 'setting up shop' but there you have it.
My work-area is a lot smaller than before so I've had to spend some time on getting everything 'just right' and getting 'maximum efficiency' out of it. It's much cosier though and, after having made and repaired some jewellery for others, that little 'glow-feeling' is back.

Mazzo and Pizza
There has been one profound pizza-experience in my life.

Funny Sign
Only several seconds after I'd past this sign, something registered. I had to go back and make sure I wasn't just seeing things or making them up (shiver me timbers).
Someone with a really cool sense of houmour, if you ask me.

The woes and WONDERS of living in Amsterdam II
I'm amazed at how the wildlife here survives and coninues the cycle of life, oblivious to the dangers and noise of City life.
Two days ago, I'd noticed a goose preparing her nest close to the side of the canal, and was somewhat concerned when I saw her leave this morning, abandoning the nest with eggs. Thankfully she returned a little later.

The WOES and wonders of living in Amsterdam I
Popped round the corner, this morning, to get a plant pot and encountered THIS➜ click on: news article.
The scene after an armed robbery!
Thing is, when I got there, it wasn't obvious what had just happened. As I arrived, the (rolling)shutters went up, two men (with what turned out to be forensic equipment) came out and there was only one little bit of limp, red-and-white tape hanging near the entrance. So I ignorantly asked:, "May I enter?"..... but no.
Got my pot two shops down, and that was that.
